Publishers are invited to submit entries to the inaugural Architecture Book of the Year Award programme, organized by the Worshipful Company of Chartered Architects and the Temple Bar Trust, in association with the World Architecture Festival.

ABOUT THE AWARD

The intention is to promote architectural culture to a wide audience via discussion and celebration of books covering a wide range of architectural subjects.

There is no entry fee, you may be relieved to hear!

For these inaugural awards, the time frame is any book published in 2020, 2021 or 2022.

You simply need to send three copies of any book you are submitting to the organizer office (detailed below), which would be dispatched to the judges. There will be three judges per category.

Entries should be published in English (translations into English welcome).

The submission deadline is Friday 21 April 2023.

    City/country architectural guide

    THE JUDGING PROCESS

Judges, a mixture of academics, practising architects and critics, will make their decision based on (a) quality of content – the primary consideration; (b) quality of design; and (c) production values.

Following judging and selection, the organizers will request a further three copies of the winning entries, in order for a final jury to choose the overall Architectural Book of the Year from the category winners.

Category-winning authors and publishers will be invited to a reception in Temple Bar in June, to coincide with the London Festival of Architecture, where they will receive their awards. A book fair is planned for that month, where winners will have the opportunity to discuss their books in live-streamed/recorded discussions, also in Temple Bar.
