Yichen Lu is the first Chinese architect to design the China Expo Pavilion overseas. He is the founder and principal architect of Studio Link-Arc, a New York based architecture design firm established in 2012. He served as Visiting Professor at Tsinghua University, the Syracuse University School of Architecture and the Politecnico di Milano. Mr. Lu has completed cultural and educational projects around the world. He was the first prize winner of the 2006 Shinkenchiku Residential Design Competition, named the “Global Design Vanguard 2015” by Architectural Record, the recipient of the Gold Award of the 2019 and 2022 ARCASIA Awards for Architecture, the recipient of 2022 American Institute of Architects (AIA) New York Chapter Design Award, and won the Annual Best Cultural Architecture Award of the 2025 World Architecture Festival (WAF). He has also been invited to speak at numerous international architectural conferences and architecture schools, including keynote lectures at Harvard University Graduate School of Design, Yale University Graduate School of Architecture, Syracuse University School of Architecture, and the AIA New York Chapter of Architects. In 2015, Yichen Lu served as the chief architect for the China Pavilion for Expo Milano 2015. This groundbreaking project, China’s first independent-constructed Expo Pavilion overseas, opened to an international acclaim in 2015.
