Murat Tabanlıoğlu is an architect with a long-established presence in contemporary architectural culture and was educated at the Technical University of Vienna (TU Wien). Among his most recognized works are the Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM), Tersane Istanbul mixed-use waterfront regeneration, the Beyazıt State Library, Loft Gardens residential complex, Milas–Bodrum International Airport, the Stade du Senegal, and Crystal Towers hotel and residential development. His wider body of work spans cultural institutions, large-scale urban transformation, infrastructure, housing, as well as hospitality developments shaped by landscape and place. Beyond his built work, Tabanlıoğlu has contributed to architectural culture through exhibitions, installations, and curatorial practice. He served as curator of Places of Memory at the Venice Architecture Biennale, and his work has been presented at major international cultural platforms, including Milan, London, Dubai, and Antwerp. His work has received international recognition and awards from leading architectural institutions, including RIBA, the Mies van der Rohe Award, and the Aga Khan Award for Architecture. He has also served as a juror for major global architecture platforms, including RIBA, the Aga Khan Award for Architecture, and the World Architecture Festival (WAF).
