Michael is Director, Chair of the Board and Design Lead at AJC Architects, a studio of over 85 people based in Sydney, Australia. Projects include single dwelling, multi-unit housing, education, public buildings, and major urban designs. Michael's designs have been successful at WAF, including Best Sports category, Masterplan category, Future Project of the Year, and highly commended in Education Future Projects. More local awards include the recent Australian Institute of Architects Award for Heritage – Adaptive Reuse and the Award for Enduring Architecture, as well as other awards such as, the Best Education Building in NSW Australia. Michael has also participated in, and chaired juries around the world including WAF from 2010-2025, and WAF China from 2021-2024. AJC designs are for future generations and must be 'in the round', which means creative, sustainable and innovative, in artistic, conceptual, technical and economic terms.
