John Prentice is an Architect and Urban Designer with 25 years of global experience. As a Woods Bagot Principal and Sydney Studio Hub Leader, John has a steadfast commitment to design that places human experience at its core, leading the design collaboration for major city-shaping projects across the Transport, Residential, Retail, Commercial, Hospitality, Health and Education sectors. Defined by an empathetic design approach, John is an internationally acclaimed, award-winning architect. His notable projects include Sydney’s Central Station, Crows Nest Metro, Wynyard Walk, the luxury retail precinct at 25 Martin Place and the Nan Tien Cultural Centre. His broader urban vision is reflected in his masterplanning work across Sydney Olympic Park Metro, The Bays and Pyrmont Station, projects that continue to shape Sydney’s evolving fabric. His leadership has been recognised through participation in both the NSW State Design Review Panel and the Landcom Design Review Panel, where he has contributed to the shaping of city-shaping projects across the Transport, Residential, Retail, Commercial, Hospitality, Health, and Education sectors. Beyond the studio, John is an advocate for greater diversity within the profession, committed to fostering a more inclusive and forward-thinking culture across architecture and design.
