Lead Designer and Founder
Hubo Studio

Asher Marcus is the Founder and Lead Architect of Hubo Studio, a global architecture practice specialising in innovative educational environments. His work explores how architecture can shape childhood, learning and community through spaces that encourage curiosity, creativity and independence. His projects are often conceived as “mini-cities for children” - rich spatial ecosystems where learning, play, culture and community life intersect. Asher designs collaboratively with children, teachers and board members. Hubo Studio’s work has received global recognition, including the World Architecture Festival 2025 award for Best Use of Natural Light for the Redhill Early Learning Centre in Johannesburg, along with multiple international shortlistings and awards. Asher is a member of the AIA, SAIA, GiFA and SACAP, and frequently contributes to conversations on the future of education, design and child-centred architecture.
