Ankur Choksi is Co-Founding Principal of Studio Lotus, a globally recognised, multidisciplinary design practice established in 2002. The studio’s work across master planning, architecture, and interiors is guided by its ethos of Conscious Design—an approach rooted in local context, cultural relevance, and craft.
Ankur leads large-scale hospitality, adaptive reuse, and residential projects in the studio, while also shaping its design direction, culture, and strategic growth. His work emphasises storytelling through architecture, drawing on regional influences, materiality, and artisanal practices. He is a strong advocate for adaptive reuse as a sustainable design approach.
Actively engaged with academia and the design community, Ankur has been a visiting faculty member, lecturer, and juror at leading institutions including NID, CEPT Ahmedabad, and NIFT Delhi. Driven by curiosity and learning, Ankur is deeply interested in craft, technology, and music, particularly Indian classical and jazz. He loves building with his hands, and the satisfaction that the process of creation brings. In a different life, Ankur would have chosen to be a carpenter or a sculptor.
