Tanya Kalinina is a founding partner of McAdam Architects since 2002. Her work is focused on creating long-term value through high-quality, well-worked design solutions, aiming to deliver thoughtful architecture which pushes the boundaries of design and planning.

Tanya studied at Moscow Architectural Institute and Canterbury School of Architecture. In 1993 she established the Moscow office of Will Alsop and worked there as director for eight years prior to setting up McAdam Architects with her partner James McAdam.

Over the years, McAdam Architects' work has extended from the intricate design of private dwellings and sustainable development, to large-scale masterplans and strategic briefing for urban regeneration.

In 2014 Tanya completed a PhD in Practice Research at RMIT University under the supervision of Professor Leon van Schaik.

Her recent works have concentrated on adaptive reuse, careful remodelling of historic properties, and the development of brownfield sites. Considerations for surrounding environments and the use of existing resources are at the forefront of this work.

Tanya remains involved in research, education, and other activities relating to the development of the architectural profession.
